  • What is the Senior Experten Service (SES)?

SES is a non-profit organization. It is a pool of specialists from various fields who are ready to share their knowledge and skills both within Germany and abroad.

  • Who is a Senior Expert?

A senior expert is a retired professional helping to train both specialist workers and management staff on a voluntary basis. They help others to help themselves.

  • Who can benefit from  this service? Is it limited to certain sectors/ specialties?

The main focus is on Small and Medium Enterprises. But educational establishments, local authorities, public institutions and international organizations can also benefit from this service..

  • Who funds the exchange program?

Clients fund the major share of the costs associated with SES assignments – particularly

those incurred at the assignment location. In certain cases, if foreign clients are unable to meet the costs of

international travel and administrative expenses, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) can provide funds.

  • How do I apply to the SES program?

  • Success stories in Sri Lanka

2011: Senior Expert Ulrich Rabener helped the bakery training centre attached to „Future for Children“, a charity organization based in Kosgoda, Southern Sri Lanka. He helped train young people in the community who were later employed as bakers, cooks and confectioners by hotels in the area.

2007: Rolf Baatz, a cosmetic consultant with over 25 years of experience in the cosmetics industry in Europe worked with Natures’ Secret Pvt. Limited to improve their product line and to help them penetrate into the European market.
