From September 1, 2009 visa applicants who wish to visit Germany, Austria, Estonia, Hungary or Latvia on a short term visit (up to three months) may submit all necessary travel documents to the

Emergency Food Aid to the North from Germany
Germany donates urgent food aid worth 4 Mio Euros (640 mn RS) to meet requirements of people displaced and economically affected in the Vanni and in Jaffna.
The donation is being implemented through the Relief and Recovery Operation “Food for Peacebuilding and Recovery in Conflict-Affected Areas” by the UN World Food Programme (WFP).
The funds will be utilised to distribute 4.159 tons of rice, 897 tons of grain, 400 tons of vegetable oil, 800 tons of sugar, 2.500 tons of sugar-free cornsoyablend among the IDPs living in these areas.
